a) A patriot is considered as a person who is very devoted and really, really loves his or hers country. The word itself comes from patriotism which comes from the Latin patria and Greek patritha.
b) I would not consider myself as a patriot per se’, or at least not in the way the American people are. Maybe because the Americans are more loving, and I have often heard an American say “I would die for my country” and that I’m not really willing to do, yet!
c) The statue of Liberty or also known as “Lady Liberty” has become a symbol of freedom and democracy. By welcoming arriving immigrants who could see the statue from a great distance, as they arrived to the United States.
