It was a warm morning, Peter got out of his bed and walk out in the kitchen to his wife Mary. It was the day Peter was going to Iraq, Peter should be there as soldier in seven month without his family. Peter sits down and eats breakfast with Mary, and their son ten year old Christian. Christian asks Peter why he must leave for Iraq? Peter tries to answer with that is his job, because Christian is too small to understand it.
It was afternoon, Mary and Christian waving goodbye from the airport.Peter began to cry when the plane lifted off, what if it was the last time he would see his son and wife.
After twelve hours in air, Peter landed in Bagdad. It was very hot outside the plane, and there ware sand and dust all over the place. A military car came out to pick Peter and the others up, and drive them to the camp. The camp was built of containers, tents and sandbags and there were about 50 men in every tent.
Peter had been in Iraq for two months, every week he received letters from Mary and Christian. They wrote that they missed him and often Christian sent a drawing with the family, and every time Peter saw them he was moved.
