The Monkey's Paw: En tragisk historie om ønsker

Monday 25 april 1998 the police found a 12 year old girl murdered in her own house. The police are investigating the case but at present they have no suspects or witnesses to the murder. The police have said that Jane was home alone in her auntie’s house at the time of the murder because her whole family including her father, mother and brother were recently killed in a car accident. The police found a diary and a monkey paw alongside the girl’s body but the police do not want to comment about the diary at the moment. The police have said that the girl had written about the three wishes that they had made together with her older brother, Mal, and about the last days of her life. The police also found out that she went to a fair with her brother and that there were rumour’s about a monkey paw that had been stolen from the gypsy’s tent at the fair but they are not too sure how the monkey paw came to be alongside the dead girl’s body. The diary is being kept in a secret place but local journalists were allowed the read the diary very briefly and I was one of them. The gipsy had warned them about the magical powers of the monkey paw but they refused to believe her, She had written that her brother was going to have bad luck in the future but her brother thought she was so stupid and so he went back into the tent and stole the monkey paw. The first wish was made by Mal and he didn’t want to go to school anymore and the day after was expelled. The second wish they made together where Mal didn’t want his parents to find out that he had been expelled from school and Jane had wished for a million pounds. Tragically her parents and Mal were killed in a car accident so his parents never found out that he had been expelled and as a result of the accident Jane received a million pounds from the bus company because the driver was drunk at the time of the accident. The last wish was made by Jane where she wished that Mal was alive again but she had to go and see him at the graveyard but the grave was empty. She says in the diary that she got scared and ran home, but when she came home she could hear a noise, something shuffling and a smell of wet earth, knock knock knock…. and that was the last thing she wrote in her diary. The murder inquiry is still ongoing but remains a mistery.
