I felt so tiny beside the black man. It was like something was stuck in my throat so I took my case and walked down the almost empty bus. I muttered at him, because I didn’t dare say anything to him. He was so handsome; he had a big muscular body, a very intense look in his brown eyes and beautiful white teeth. But why were he so angry? I sat down on another seat four rows back in the bus. I didn’t want to sit to close and not too far away from him. I took my case and laid it on the seat next to me, because I hate stranger’s sits next to me. Now I was secured from the black man and from anyone who tries to take the place beside me.
There was something mysterious about him, his smell and the way he just came rushing onto the bus. It was as if he were hiding something? But who doesn’t? I’ve tried to hide my feelings over the last 5 months. My last boyfriend dumped me like I was a piece of nothing. I’ll never forgive him. After Clark dumped me, I didn’t know what to do. I had no one I could talk to about it because my friends were his friends and they obviously liked him better than me, so I moved into a small apartment for myself and was doing quite fine, I thought. I worked as a waitress in a diner and at night as a bartender at a local bar. When I didn’t work I drew dresses, blouses, jeans and everything I could think of. My big dream has always been to become a famous designer in San Francisco. Therefore, I gathered all my best drawings so I can show them to Christian Audigier. He is a very famous designer that I've always looked up to. He uses the colours in ways I’ve never seen before. He’s like a god to me. He came from nothing and now he’s one of the best designers in the whole world. He is “the American dream”.
