A selfie is a picture by yourself of yourself or when you’re with other people. A lot of people take selfies, for instance with famous people, to show that they’ve met them, and to become more popular or just to keep the memory. You often upload it to social media, for example Facebook. Many people have selfies as their profile picture or cover photo.
You can also put a filter on your selfie, it can make the lightning look prettier, or make your skin or hair look smoother. Some people even use photoshop on their pictures, photoshop can change everything in the picture, it can make your neck thin, or maybe give you a sixpack. If your good at photshoping you can basically change everything.
Back in the days you couldn’t really take a selfie. Back then you made portraits and paintings of people. But only very rich or high socially ranked people got portraits. The kings and queen had them, and some of the highborn people had them made, but simple commoners just simply couldn’t afford it.
The word sefie is a very new word, it came with some of the first phones, that had a front face camera, and an outfaced camera. Having a camera on your cellphone at all is actually quite new, its only around the year of 2000, they started making phones with cameras.
