Paradise is a short story written by Matthey Kneale. The story takes place in a small village in Nepal, Asia. We meet a man called Neville, and he is a tourist from England. The reason why he is en Nepal is because he is going to gather information about the small village, which is called Drughat, to his tourist book.

Neville runs into an old man who advises him to go to the village Drughat. He says that everything is so beautiful and the people are so friendly there. He ends up in Drughat, and he notice that it’s a very poor village that rarely appears to have seen tourists. The residents of Drughat show Neville warmth and very high standards of hospitality in spite of the fact that he is a stranger.

Neville ends up being in the village for five days even though his plan was that he should stay there for one day. He is so drawn by friendliness, giving people and the fantastic nature. He lives at this guy called Twakali, and Twakali’s son is the one who shows Neville all the remarkable places. When Neville finally decides to leave the village Twakali is giving him a silver medallion. Neville can barely receive this medallion, but he knows that it is worse to refuse taking the medallion.
