The film begins with the story of a great warrior, who left his home in Transylvania to fight in the crusades, only to discover upon his return, that his wife has committed suicide because of the impression that he was dead. The warriors rage is so great, that he swears to god, that he’ll live until he is reunited with his beloved wife once again.
Centuries has passed and the immortal warrior, count Dracula, still lives in Transylvania, when a young British estate agent visits him to make an agreement with some real estate. One day Dracula spots a picture of the young man’s fiancée, who has a striking resemblance to his late wife. Dracula is now aware that his beloved wife lives again. Dracula and his servants, who are fed on human blood, keep the young estate agent as their prisoner, while they travel to London, so Dracula finally can be with his wife again. But the young man escapes, and a battle of life and death begins.
This screen version of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” is a great reproduction of the marvellous tale of the blood sucking count Dracula, who has been a stereotype of horror for centuries. Dracula has never before filled us with such horror, and it’s hard to imagine this film defeated by another reproduction. It will thrill you and it’s definitely worth your time. The bloodthirsty creatures and the horrifying darkness not to mention the remarkable list of actors, makes this film a must see for every horror fanatic.
