Film Review: Romeo & Juliet (Zeffirelli)

The film takes place in Verona in the past. The film is about two young people who is falling in love. They are called Romeo and Juliet. But they cannot be together, because their families are to different types. The family of Juliet is rich while Romeo’s family is poor and lives in a church. Romeo and Juliet are falling in love to a party. Romeo cannot get his eyes away from her, he will do everything. Juliet has the same feelings for Romeo and they decide to get married. After the marriage Romeo gets in a fight with Juliet’s cousin, so Romeo is being expelled and cannot see Juliet. Juliet decides to take a bottle containing a special drug from Romeos father. This drug works in a way so Juliet passes out for a day. When Romeo finds her he thinks that Juliet is dead. Romeo will also kill himself, because he thinks Juliet is dead. So he takes a bottle with poison. Juliet wakes up, and sees Romeo dead. She loved him so much and takes her on life.

The film is a romantic movie with a lot of mystery. The film is told very well. I think it is a good film. Romeo is the hero, Juliet the heroine and Tybalt Juliet’s cousin and his friends is the villains. I like Romeo best, because he is so romantic and will do everything for Juliet. I think he will fight for his Juliet, but also because he is beautiful and sweet to look at.
