Going away for the weekend is a telling about a family, living in the county on a farm. It has rained for a period and the farmer Roger can’t get his corn planted. He has trouble sleeping because he has left his daughters new black kitten outside. The next couple of days he was thorn by nervousity. Not because of the kitten, but because of the fact that the weather kept him from planting his corn. One day his wife Cindy has had enough. She takes him to her sister for the weekend because they can’t do anything anyway as long as the earth is so muddy. They started heading towards Grand Rapids, and left the two daughters home alone. As they were about to hit the county road they saw more cars than normally. All turning down their driveway…

Roger and Cindy cross the muddy field to find out what’s going on. Their daughters are having a party. After walking a long distance in mud, Roger decides not to do anything about it. They walk back to the car while being chased by their own dog Oscar, and finally when they start the car, the wheels starts spinning, making the car slide down the ditch. Roger then has to go back asking at the party if there is anyone who can give them a push. Roger finds out that he has dropped his wallet on the way over the field. Luckily the guest gathers 60 “bucks” in a hat, as thanks for letting Martha and Cathy having this party. Roger and Cindy reach Rapid falls at 4:00 pm…
