“Thanks uncle Paul” I yell to myself as I see what was in the box that he had gotten me, I couldn’t thank him in person as he was in Africa working, tickets for the festival this weekend. I was so excited to go, I had all my stuff packed and called up my friend Will telling him I got the tickets, which of course meant we could go together. Will was as excited as I was if not more, Will had already been to a festival before this one so he knew what to expect.
Fast forward to Friday, Will and I can’t sit still in our chairs as we get to the last period. The bell, finally, we rush out of class not hearing what our teacher says. As we are biking home, we talk about all the stuff that we need to do and who we need to listen to at the festival.
We get to my house, say a short goodbye and a see you later. My mum is in the kitchen making toast and tea, I grab a toast, a cup of tea with milk and sugar and I head for my room. Upstairs I put the toast and the tea on my desk, from under the bed I pull out a duffel bag, “I’ll just double check I have everything” I say to myself and I take a quick sip of tea and a bite of toast. Will told me the basics on what I needed for the festival, an air mattress, a sleeping bag, a pillow, some fresh clothes and then he would be in charge of the tent and the smaller stuff like condoms and stuff like that which could come in handy.
