Goodbye Bafana: En filmanmeldelse

I don’t think it’s a bad movie, because it shows you an important part of our history as people.

It also tells the story and the bag ground of apartheid. Apartheid made our world different and it’s an important history part, it was separation, racism and rights for different people. Apartheid separated black and colored from whites. Racism against the colored and black, and the rights was made for the white people. The black and colored didn’t have any rights, but the whites otherwise had all the rights they wanted.

The movie also tells us about Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, who was jailed for 27 years and 10 month for terrorism (political terrorism). He also became the first black president in the history. He was against apartheid and was willing to lose his life for it. His dream was a world, where black, colored and white could live together in peace, have the same rights and be able to live the life they want to live. He’s also the founder of ANC (African National Congress), which was an organization, who fought for freedom for black and colored people.

James Gregory was the other end of the story. He was a prisoner guard, who guarded Mandela for 20 years. In the beginning Gregory was like every other white man, he didn’t like colored or black, and thought that it would be easier to just kill Mandela, so he was out of the world. In the end Mandela and Gregory became good friends. Mandela liked Gregory a lot, Gregory could actually talk to Mandela, in Mandela’s mother language and Gregory could also fight with sticks, which was a big thing in Mandela’s original tripe, if you were a good stick fighter, your status in the tripe was bigger.
