“Why did it happen, and what can be done for future prevention”.

The Columbine high school massacre occurred on, Tuesday the 20th of April 1999. The 2 killers, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold had started their massacre, which they had been planning for over a year. The massacre provoked several discussions on why this had occurred and several discussions about the US gun control laws.

Why did it happen?

First of all we must take into consideration, “Why did it happen”. There are several possible reasons for why the 2 killers might have decided to do it. Several attempts to explain their motives have already been done by newspapers, journalists and people in general. However, most of them fail to see, what the motives behind the shooting truly were and why 15 people had to pass away that day.

Psychiatrists have been working ever since that horrifying day, to solve one of the most mysterious school shootings in us history, and after thorough research it seems that the explanation is as simple as this whole story is horrid, they were psychopaths. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were psychopaths, but not ordinary psychopaths, they had far more control of themselves than a usual psychopath would ever achieve. However, there was a good reason for this, each of them worked hard to keep the other one under control and they made sure to hold each other away from trouble, which allowed them to fulfil their plans and create a massacre. It is important to state that this psychopathic way of thinking is something they have had their whole life, and it is a faulty conclusion to believe that the trench coat mafia (a group of Goths at the school), had anything to do with this, as matter of fact the members of the TCM graduated almost a year before the massacre and there is no evidence whatsoever, that proves any kind of connection with this group. It has been made clear that Harris was the leader of this massacre, but it has also been made clear that Harris was dependant on a companion to ever get as far as to cause a high school shooting. They were not outcasts or bad persons in any way (drugs etc), their parents had a fair amount of cash, more than enough to sustain a healthy lifestyle and all the myths about them taking revenge on jocks are not true, they were ranked far higher than most other people among their friends, and they often went to parties in the weekends.
