Summary of Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump is a man with a low IQ but good intentions. He is living life well, and ends up with his little son Forrest junior Gump. But before that Forrest wife, Jenny, died. Jenny was the love of his life. They where both from Alabama, and they met eachother on Forrest first day at school, from that day on Jenny and Forrest where like “peas and carrots”. Jenny lived with her dad, who was an alcoholic while Forrest lived with his mom. Forrest mom she really cared about him, she teaches him the ways of life, and she would do anything to make her son, have the same opportunity in life, as other kids. She even slept with the principal, to get Forrest into a public school. In his childhood, he meet Elvis Presley, who wasn’t famous yet at the time. Forrest could run icredibly fast which got him into college on a football scholarship, there he met President Kennedy at the White House. When he finished college, he decides to join the Army, he also meets Jenny again, and finds out that Jenny is working as a stripper. He does it really good in the army and got sent to Vietnam with his “best good friend” Bubber, who convinced him to enter the shrimping business with him when the Vietnam War was over. In Vietnam he also meet Lieutenant Dan who was his commanding officer. Forrest saved his comrade's lives and was awarded the medal of honor. But not everybody survived the war, even though Forrest did save many of his men. Bubba didn't survive the war, and Dan lost both of his legs. Then Forrest started a ping-pong craze, he played for the U.S. Army team, gaining popularity and rising to celebrity status, and meet President Nixon about the ping-pong thing, and gets to meet John Lennon. He also participated in a hippie demonstration in Washington, DC, and got united with Jenny who was living a hippie culture lifestyle while Forrest was away. Then he bought a shrimping boat and fulfilled his promise to Bubba. Lieutenant Dan, joined him like he promised Forrest. He returned home because of his mother was ill - she died soon after. After some time with some bad luck at the scrimping business, he began to pull in huge amounts of shrimp, and became an original investor in Apple Computers. Forrest continued his life in his home as a child in Alabama. Then Jenny returned to visit Forrest. But after some while, she leaves him. Forrest decided to go for a run, but ended up with running back and forth across the country for several years, and then he became famous again.. After his running, he got at letter from Jenny, because she wanted to met Forrest, he found Jenny's apartment, and discovered that he had a son named Forrest too. Together the three of them, moved back to Greenbow, Alabama where Jenny and Forrest finally got married. Jenny died soon after, by a virus, leaving their son in Forrest's care.
