Forrest Gump: plot summary and film review

Forrest is telling us about his whole live and his many experiences while he is sitting on a bench at the bus stop, different people is sitting next to him and listens to his stories. Forrest is a retarded boy who lives together with his mom, his father is dead. Forrest mom has a big old house; she rent out some of the rooms to get money. Forrest can’t walk in the beginning, but after he had been to the doctor he gets some metal on both of his legs, so he can walk. At Forrest’s first day at school he meets Jenny. He meets Jenny in the school bus. She was the only one who wanted to sit right next to him. And after that day they were like best friends. Forrest was always teased by the other kids because his retarded and couldn’t run like other kids. One day Jenny and Forrest were walking together and then there came a group of young boys in a car who wanted to tease Forrest. The throw stone after him and then Jenny shout “Forrest run” and then Forrest tried to run. Normally he couldn’t run but suddenly he could run so fast that the metal the doctor has put on both of Forrest legs broke and after that day Forrest was always running, no matter where he was going. Forrest began in college. He only got in because he is good at Football. After he was finished with college he turns himself in to the army. In the army he meets Bobba. Bobba is from a family were they are fishing after shrimp. They become really good friends and they decide to fish shrimp together, when they are finished with the army. One day Forrest gets a letter that says he was going to Vietnam. In Vietnam he meets Dan who is “the boss” of their group. Forrest likes Dan; Forrest thinks that Dan is the best man in Vietnam. One day when Forrest and his group were out in the field they were attacked by the Vietnamese and everyone ran and fall down, but Forrest ran much faster than all of them, he’d actually ran so fast that suddenly he was gone, but Forrest ran back to find his group. Forrest saved a lot from his group, but he was missing Bubba and Dan. When Forrest finds Dan, Dan says “Just let me die!” but Forrest didn’t understand what he was saying and took Dan on his shoulder and rescued him. Now he was just looking for Bubba. He ran all over the field to fiend, then he found Bubba, but he was lying totally still, he wasn’t dead, he was just very hurt, Bubba died. They went back to the base. He learned how to play ping pong. He was so good at playing ping pong, that no one could beat him. When the war in Vietnam was over, Forrest was sent home to America. He got an honour medal, because he rescued so many people, when Vietnam attacked Forrest’ group. In America there was a big conference in a huge outdoor place, where Forrest was forced to talk about the war in Vietnam, but suddenly the loudspeakers didn’t work, and when they finally work, he was done talking. Suddenly a girl ran out in the big pool in the middle of the conference, she shouted “Forrest!” It was Jenny. Forrest ran into the pool and they hugged. They walked away together, so they could talk, Jenny had to leave again after a few hours. After a while Forrest and Dan started to catch shrimps together. They actually made a lot of money, because a huge storm hit them while they were on the sea, and crashed all of the other ships; expect Dan and Forrest ship, so they were the only shrimp fishers in the area. Dan took over, so Forrest could return back home. When he got back, his mother was very sick and she died a few days later. Forrest was very said and he reminds himself all of the good things she used to say. When Jenny heard the bad news, she showed up. She spends the night with Forrest and was gone the next day. Forrest missed her so much, and then he started to run, he ran nonstop in 3 years, and people joined him all worldwide and he became world famous, everyone knew his name. Suddenly he decided to return to his house. When he got back, there was a letter from Jenny; she asked him if he could meet with her. Forrest ran to Jenny’s house, and then there was a little boy. Jenny told him, that the little boy was his son. Forrest was so happy to know that he had a son. Jenny and Forrest decided to live together, but Jenny died. That was very hard for Forrest, but he lived with his son for the rest of his days.
