Aborigines
The aborigines are the indigenous people of Australia. They were the only people in Australia until 1788, when a boat full of prisoners from England and some settlers came to Sydney. The prisoners had been banished from Britain and sent to the “Other side of the world” for the rest of their lives. Today there are about 550.000 aborigines back. Once the aborigines had between 200 and 300 different languages, but today only 70 of them are still spoken.
