Dear Jeanette, I have so much to tell you about South Africa. It’s a wonderful country! There is a lot of interesting things here that you can’t find in Denmark. For example: the weather. It’s always “summer” here. Isn’t it nice?! And I have never seen so much different kind of wild animals and insects ever. You just have to take a trip on safari to see all that. By the way, you’ve got to remember that lions are not kittens. They and the other animals are very dangerous.
When you are coming in South Africa the first thing you can see is a Table Mountain, because it is very high and have a special shape. Then you can see that there are both white and black people all around you. Although apartheid has been canceled in approximately 1994, many South Africans still live in poorness. South Africa has a fairly high level of crime. It is mainly found in the poor areas.
In the old times black people in South Africa were denied some of rights: for example they could not vote and be elected, get married with person with another skin color, get citizenship of South Africa. Black people should be grateful to Nelson Mandela and other activists, for the fact that thanks to such as they are, there isn't apartheid in South Africa longer.
