Henry VIII
Henry VIII was king of England from April 1509 and to his dead, 28 January 1547. Henry was not special religious, he changed if he had to, to get his wife’s.
Henry’s first wife was Catherine of Aragon, and also mother to Mary I. Catherine was daughter of Fredinand and Isabella of Spain, in 1501 she marry Henry VII’s eldest son Arthur at the age of 16. Arthur died in 1502, bout Henry VII don’t want that Catherine returned to Spain. When Henry VIII became king, he asked Catherine to marry him, Henry and Catherine were married in 1509.
Henry think that God is punishing him to married his brother’s wife, and that was why Catherine couldn’t get a son. Henry also fallen for Anne Boleyn, the daughter of Thomas Boleyn, who returned to England for French court. Catherine and Henry were divorced in 1533, and Catherine died in 1536.
Henry’s second wife was Anne Boleyn, and also mother to Elizabeth. At the age of fourteen she was sent with her sister (Mary) to French as a maid to Queen Claude, and returned to England in 1522. In 1526 Henry asked Anne to become his mistress, bout she won’t because he was a married man. The couple secretly gets married in 1533 after Anne became pregnant. These marriage wasn’t popular, many people believed that Anne was a witch and had cast a spell on Henry. Henry gets tired of Anne and wants to skip her out. He doesn’t want to wait for a divorce, so his ministers invented evidence showing that Anne had plotted the death of the King. She was found guilty and was executed in 1536.
