He eventually creates a living being that he detests because it is so ugly. He is disappointed with himself because he has spent so long on something that was not good. As he himself says in the short story, ‘’he had worked hard for nearly two years and had not taken care of my health. Now that I was finished, the beauty of my dream disappeared, and horror and disgust filled my heart." He eventually ends up going home to his family.
