Martin Luther King Martin Luther King was born in Atlanta, Georgia at the 15th January 1929. He was son of Michael Luther King Sr. who was a priest and Alberta Williams King. He's originally name was Michael Luther King Jr. But when he and his parents moved to Germany his father changed their first name to Martin. In 1948 Martin Luther King graduated from Morehouse College. He also got a PH.D from Boston university in 1955. He married a woman named Coretta Scott on June 18th in 1953.
