As we all know; Martin Luther King Jr. was the leader of the American African Civil Rights movement. He gave many speeches and gave the other black people a hope. And the most famous speech was “I Have a Dream”, that really got the black civilian up and protest seriously. That speech took precisely 17 minutes. And he gave it on the 28 of August 1963 dramatically delivered from the steps of the Lincoln memorial. It was given for over 200.000 people, during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. Here is one verse of the famous speech “I have a dream” that I will analyze….
ANALYSIS
,,I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.”
This verse is according to my opinion, the best description in this speech. I can feel how he felt, when he was saying it. It really tells us that the black people didn´t want war, but they wanted peace. He is telling us about the brotherhood. But what is the brotherhood? I think that he meant that the black and white people will be like brothers. They will not judge each other by the outer, but by the inner. The content of their character. As he said in an other verse in the speech “I have a dream”.
