Every year over 11.000 people gets killed by guns in USA. One of the reasons could be the easy access to guns, you only have to be 16 to go into a store and buy a gun, and every American has the right to have a gun for self-protection.
Some people even get guns for Christmas or birthdays before they turn 16. And you don’t even always have to pay to get a gun, in some banks, when you open a bank account they give you a gun. It’s quite weird how guns are hanging on the walls in a bank, since you could just take one of them and then rob the bank.
Another weird fact is that in Canada have almost as many guns as in USA, but they have a fraction of the homicides. This could be because the news media in America scares the population, by reporting about crime, violence, and murders. The news media always focuses on the bad things, if there were two stories, one with a gun involved and one with a little girl who drowned, all news reporters would choose the story with the gun. Another thing the news media does is that they often use the black people as a scapegoat for criminality.
