Guns have been used for decades. At times, it is used to fight for freedom and some uses them as a hobby. Unfortunately, the use of guns has also found roots in wars and individual murdering all around the world. This especially finds place in America, as it is a right to bear a firearm. The perpetuating killings have led many American citizens to believe that guns must be abolished. On the other hand, some citizens believe that getting rid of guns is like taking away their freedom. This is what the following article 1, 2 and 3 is about.

The 1st article, “Why Americans won’t give up their guns”, was written by the Guardian journalist, Gary Younge and this was released in 2017. In this article, Younge expressed the current situation of America and the need of new gun laws and by doing so, he intended to open the eyes of the populace of America, who needed to comprehend the fact that America is no longer safe but a rather abhorrent country. An innumerable amount of people have been murdered, as a result of how easy it is to get hands on a gun and because of the countless citizens who have access to firearms even though they have a criminal background. People who support the Second Amendment, see this situation as if nothing is out of the ordinary, as they believe, carrying a gun is a brilliant way to make America safer. On the other hand, Younge has stated the following: “… if more people carried guns, America would be less safe”(p. 3 lines 4-5) - Opposing many people, Younge believes that if the guns would have made America safer, then why all these killings? This leads Younge to believe that guns bring more harm than good to the populace of America.
