Why are guns so popular in the USA? The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution gives Americans the right to bear arms, and three-in-ten American adults personally own a gun. Some of them wants a gun to be able to fulfil the castle law and then there are others who just wanted a weapon just to have one. Most of these gun owners say the right to own firearms is essential to their own personal sense of freedom. Every year, 17,000 people are killed in America, 70% of them with guns, and nearly 20,000 people commit suicide by shooting themselves. People are shot at work, at school, at the supermarket, at bus stops, or even at the front door if they ring the bell. Summary In the documentary we hear different stories from different people. From gangs to local law enforcement to gun hobbyists to a young mother, this documentary explores the lives of people with guns. At the beginning we get to hear about a police officers unlucky situation with to criminals and a gun, where the policeman gets shot right next to his mouth. Then we get to hear about two women’s reasons for buying a gun. Both of them wants to use the guns to protect their family. Then comes a third story about a man who tells us why he teaches his wife and daughters about gun safety and how to use one, plus his backstory. Next man tells his story from a very young age, when he was a member of a serious gang and how he saw to get rid of it too. The last story we hear was about two men, who both uses a gun as a toy. This documentary I think was actually really exciting because you got to know so much about weapons and how people feel in the U.S. Also that there are so many people who are afraid of everyday life because they do not know if something is happening suddenly
