In the beginning Marshall gives us some statistics to ponder about. He shows us that in the US there are almost 300 times more shootings (that leads to killings) than in e.g. Britain. In America 6,000 pupils were expelled last year for bringing guns to school. There is an epidemic of gun violence evolving in the US.
