Den gyldne pen

Once upon a time there was a boy who was working for the king. The boy was very poor and he had to work very hard to earn money. He worked in the basement where they had sheep and chickens. There was also a stall with pigs. The poor boy had to work there all day long and the basement was so warm that he was all wet when he finished. He didn’t have any food so he was very skinny too. The lady from the kitchen would bring him food at time to time but it was only when there were leftovers. The money that he earned was saved for his sick mother who had to get medicine so he couldn’t buy food. He worked at the castle every day and he was very exhausted. He was dirty, he didn’t have any money, he was hungry and he was sleepy.

One day he went out to walk on the grass in the King’s garden. It was a very big plane. It was so big that he couldn’t see the end of it. He had bare feet. As he was walking he stepped on something in the grass. He looked down. It was shining very much and he picked it up. It was a pen but not like any other pen. It was a golden pen and it was shining like the sun. He held it in his hands and walked back to the castle. He went down to the basement through the stall with the pigs and opened a big and heavy door made out of wood. On the other side of the door there was a very big room filled with paper, ink, paint and brushes. He took a piece of paper and walked back to the stall.
