The athlete George Best was a footballer who played for Manchester United back in 1963-1974. George was born in 1946 in Northern Ireland Belfast. He died in 2005 after a kidney infection.
George Best was just an incredible good footballer. He used his balance, pace and his incredible good technique to get past the defenders. Sadly, he had a problem with alcohol and he had to get a Liver transplantation. Which was one of the main reasons that he got a kidney infection. The medicine he had to take after the transplantation was the reason for this kidney infection.
Best´s golden years
The best years of George Best was probably in 1965 - 1968, where he helped Manchester United to win the european cup and the league title twice. In addition, George Best was elected European footballer of the year. After that he, didn´t won any further major trophies. Sir Busby said to a journalist “George is immortal on the pitch, he can do anything want to”
Also he said that George was one of the most talented player that he ever trained.
His bad habit
When George wasn´t on the pitch to train or play matched then he was sitting somewhere drunk.
