Why do people protest? Why are some teens unhappy with their country or the society in which they live in? Why do people move to another place?
The article “Big Brother isn’t watching you” is about the writer’s attitude to the 2011 UK riots, and why they are happening, and what the solution could be.
Russell Brand who wrote the article is born in 1975, in an English comedian, he is an actor and musician and he currently lives in Los Angles.
The article begins by “I no longer live in London. I’ve been transplanted to Los Angles by the combination of love and money, such as fortune and opportunity”. When he says that he was transplanted to Los Angles it seems like he was taken from London and he ended in Los Angles without him noticing it. It also feels like he is unhappy, that he has moved from London to Los Angles.
He mentions Britain’s Got Ice and Big Brother, which is a person that tries to control people’s behavior and thoughts, and which are shown on TV a couple of times a week. This is very interesting because people know Big Brother, and most of them watch it. He talks about things in the article that many people have heard of.
