To the person who finds this bottle: I’m so glad that you have found my message. My name is Samantha Landon, I am 47 years old, and I live in Bar Harbor in USA. Or I did. By the time you have found this bottle, I am probably dead. Right now I am in the community hospital, dying. The doctors say, that I’ve got about two weeks left. I have cancer and I have had it for almost two years, and in all of those two years, I have been fighting it. I know that some people have had it for way longer, but sadly I have the most severe type of cancer, and now my body can’t stand it anymore.
The reason that I am writing this letter is that I want you to do something for me. I want you to find my daughter for me. I have never known her since I was forced to give her up for adoption when I had her. They wouldn’t let me keep her because of a lot of things. I had recently moved out from my parents’ house (I was 20 years old) and I had a good job, but due to my pregnancy, I lost it. Because of that, I had no money. A week after, I got a phone call from some man saying that my parents had past away in a car accident. I was devastated of course. Actually so devastated, that I got a depression, so I had to go to therapy. So I took me months, almost half a year to find a new job. But I finally got one, and from there on I pulled myself together. But then about 15 years later, they found a lump in my brain and it turned out, it was cancer. I let my life go on normally for another 5-10 years, but as it got worse and worse, I became unable to work.
