Skoleskyderi på Platte Canyon High School

The 27th of September 1971 there was a school shooting at the Platte Canyon High School, Colorado. A lot of people were injured under the killing spree, some even got killed. 5 students, 1 teacher, and 1 police officer were killed during the day. It was the 17 year old Duane Morrison, who stood behind the shooting. One of the students, who was killed, was the 16 year old Emily Keyes, daughter of John Michael Keyes, and Casey Keyes. One of the surviving witnesses has said that Duane came to school acting weird. When the bell rang and everyone was on their way to class, he pulled out a UZI, and started shooting at everyone, in the hallway. Everyone started panicking and tried to get out of sight, and find a safe place. One of the teachers called 911 immediately, unluckily the teacher was shot down, in the fire of bullets. The police and the S.W.A.T team arrived in 30 minutes, right after the emergency call. When they arrived they told Duane that they had surrounded the building, and if he didn’t surrender, they would breach and use force. He didn’t, and the police breached the building, with the S.W.A.T team in the lead, and found Duane. When Duane saw them, he started opening fire in all directions, and then he was shot 4 times in the chest.
