World trade center

Written by Morten Andersen. There was a terror attack at the World Trade Center by Al Qaeda at September 11. 2001. The World Trade Center in New York City, United States, was a complex of seven buildings in Lower Manhattan, mostly designed by the American architect Minoru Yamasaki and the engineer Leslie Robertson. The World Trade Center does sometimes informally as the WCT or the Twin Towers. The Center is constructed in 1966-1972. The Center has 110 floors, and the area is 8.6 million square feet. To come up to the 110 floor, you most take an elevator. There are 198 of them. The World Trade Center is 1,727 feet, so it's understandably that there have to be so many elevators in the World Trade Center. On September 11, 2001 at 8:48 attacks and collapse the World Trade Center. Al Qaeda crashed American Airlines Flight 11 into the northern facade of the North Tower. Only seventeen minutes later, at 9:03 a.m., a second team of hijackers crashed United Airlines Flight 175 into the South Tower, which collapsed a half hour later. At 10:28 a.m. the North Tower collapsed. Both police officers, fire fighters, other workers and private people help cleaning up the destroyed World Trade Center. They were first searching for survivors in the ruins. The last survivors were found on September 12. The clean up took 8 months and more than 100.000 truckloads were removed. Least 2986 people died under the attack on the World Trade Center. After the day the World Trade Center collapsed, has the place been called Ground Zero. Every year at 11/9 is there hold a ceremony at Ground Zero to remember the people who died at that terrible day. Soon after the World Trade Center had been destroyed, some people were talking about rebuild the towers. Many of the relative families, don't want them to rebuild the towers because they consider the area at there relatives graves. They want the city to leave the area alone and build a memorial to those who died there. Other think there will come another attack on the new towers and more innocent people will die.
