Marilyn Monroe Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jeane Mortenson, 1. June 1926 at the Los Angeles County Hospital. She was an American actress, model, singer and a major sex symbol. She got married the first time with Jim Dougherty, when she was 16 years old. She got married the second time when she just had gotten her big breakthrough "Gentlemen prefer blondes" with Joe di Maggio. She got married the last time with Laurence Oliver, and they went on honeymoon to England to record "The prince and the showgirl". In the period 1950-60 she was the biggest star in Hollywood.
