She was born June 1, 1926. Her real name was Norma Jeane Mortenson born and she was born in Los Angeles , California. She changed her name to Marilyn Monroe after she was discovered by a military photographer.Her nickname was The Blonde Bombshell and MM which is short for Marilyn Monroe.She was 1.66 tall.And her sizes in dresses were 44.

She had a tough childhood because her mother Gladys Baker suffered from a mental illness that made Marilyn spent much time in foster care.She was also two years in an orphanage.Marilyn’s father left her few weeks after birth. He did not acknowledge Marilyn because her mother was not quite normal, but when Marilyn died they found her birth certificate and her parents' divorce paper which stated that her biological father was Martin Edward Baker.Her mother was mental illness and was unable to look after Marilyn. Ida Bolender – Was born May 26, 1887, in New York. She died May 7, 1972, Hawthorn, California.Albert Wayne – Was born November 6, 1883, in Ohio. He was a postman. He died May 3, 1974, Hawthorn, California.They were a kind of poor family.They had a son, Lester, who was 2 month older than Norma Jeane. In 1937, she was adopted by Grace McKee and her husband was a soldier, but in 1942 she couldn’t have Marilyn more because her husband was going to was in the east coast, so Norma had two choices either to go back to the orphanage or getting married as 16 years old. She chose to get married with her six months boyfriend Jimmy Dougherty, they were married on June 19, 1942, one day Jimmy is summoned by the Navy, where Norma where had to take a job at an airplane factory. In 1946, when Jimmy came home frem the war meant Norma not that she had time to marriage and career, so after 4 years of marriage, she divorced Jimmy. On January 14, 1954 married Norma with baseball superstar Joe DiMaggio in San Francisco. They went on honeymoon to Tokyo. But Marilyn's fame and sexual image became too much for Joe DiMaggio, and only 9 months after their marriage, they were divorced.
