This play is about Rome at the time Caesar was about to become ruler. Caesar was very giving and gave a lot of money to Romans in his will. While he was alive he wanted to do everything to get more power. Cassius, who was jealous of Caesar, convinced Brutus and his friends to make a conspiracy to kill Caesar, because they knew he would not be a good ruler. The difference between Cassis and Brutus is that Cassius kills Caesar because of jealousy. The rest of the conspirators do also, but Brutus does it for the good of Rome. They kill Caesar and that affect both them and Rome.

Caesar, Brutus, Cassius and Anthony are the main characters in the play. Caesar is ambitious, selfish, superstitious, naive, powerful and prideful.Brutus is generous, helpful, noble, virtuous, honorable and worried for Rome.Cassius is jealous, power hungry, sneaky and selfish.Marc Anthony is loyal and supports Caesar. He is manipulative, smart and honorable.

The first cause of Caesars’ dead is that he was too powerful and too ambitious to control it. He certainly would not be a good ruler for Rome.Cassius: “Like a Colossus, and we petty men walk under his huge legs and peep about to find ourselves dishonorable graves.” (1.2. 135-138)
