We know that Shakespeare was baptized on April 26, 1564 and it is assumed that he was born on April 23, 1564. In the 16-17th century when children was born they were only given birth certificate when they got baptized. So nobody knows with certainty if the date is correct. The knowledge about Shakespeare’s life is limited considered his fame. One thing we do know is that he went to a grammar school the King’s New Grammar School, we assume Shakespeare attended this school since it was founded for that reason to teach young boys basic reading and writing. The knowledge about Shakespeare’s youth is limited some people refer to it as “the lost years”, his dad was broke at that time, and those years “the lost years” are unknown to us. He was married in 1582 to a woman nearly twice his age Anne Hathaway with whom he had 3 children.

In 1592 he worked in London, first as an actor, then as an author. Later he became a shareholder at Globe Theatre, Globe Theater also known as, the Shakespeare Globe Theater or Shakespeare’s Globe. It was built in 1599 and it was burned down on 29 June 1613 during a performance of Henry the Eighth, it was rebuilt in June 1614 and in 1642. In the 16-17th century it was a tradition that people would be standing up during plays and yelling and screaming their lungs out. In 1642 the Globe Theater was closed down by the puritans, a re-construction was build in 1997 at the almost the same site as globe theater only 230 meters apart, today Globe Theater is called Shakespeare’s Globe.
