John Lennon: Liv, musik og The Beatles

Why did I choose this topic?I chose the topic because I think John Lennon is an interesting person. I have had about him in primary school. I have heard that John Lennon had a tough start of life. I wanted to know some more about his mind and music, I wanted to know more about the Beatles.

Earlier life John Winston (Ono) Lennon was born 9 Oct. 1940 in Liverpool. Lennon was an English sing and songwriter. John Lennon rose to fame with the band The Beatles. John lived with his parents until his father Alfred left them, Johns mother Julia couldn’t handle the role of being a mother, so John’s aunt Mimi raised him. Alfred came to visit John and Julia, it ended with a big fight his father forced the five – year- old John to choose between him or Julia, John choose his father twice, Julia walked away and john ran after Julia. Mimi took John home, John saw first his father 20 years later.

John had a close relationship to his uncle George; the first time John was introduced to music was when George gave John a mouth organ (mundharmonika), straight afterwards George died of heart failure. Too George´s funeral saw John, Julia for the first time since Julia asked Mimi to raise John. John´s cousin took john to Julia who had lived 1 block away his whole life. Julia quickly became a part of John's life. Julia was the main reason why John started to play music. Julia taught John to play banjo, mouth organ and guitar.
