”The Killing of John Lennon” is a film about Mark David Chapman, the man who killed John Lennon. In the start you saw, that someone is shooting a man. After that, the story goes back 3 months. Mark was a man with many mental health problems, and he didn't really ate or sleept. He was really needing a meening of his life. He called to a phone in a park just below his apartment. When they were taking the phone he said; ” Bang, bang – you're dead”.

He was starting hating everyone around him - even his fiancee. Mark went to the library and he found the book: ”The Catcher of Tthe Rye”. He was reading the book, over and over again. He was occupied by the book, and the book became reality for him. The main character in the book was just so close on Marks feelings, and he finally felt understood. No one had ever understood him, not even his mother or fiancee. He was becoming Holden Caulfield – the main character in the book – and did a lot of the same thing as he had done. Holden Caulfield had a mission – to tell all people that some people are phoneys. He went to the library again and found a new book about John Lennon. He started reading the book, and as he was reading more and more, he started hate John more and more. He hated his attitude, and all his millions. He thought that he was a really phoney, and decided to kill him. He was getting a meening with his life, but as he says; ” I have found my identity, but I have lost my mind”.
