The World trade center opened april 4 in 1973. At that time, the two tower, were the tallest in the world until 1974 when the sears tower surpassed them WTC was the heart of Manhattan, they were 417, and 415 meters high, and about 50.000 people used to work there every day. 9/11 2001 The worst thing happened. World trade center, and Pentagon were bombed, by terrorists It was an giant disaster and about 3130 people lost their life. 9/11 2001 ?ew 4 ?ights to New York 2 of the planes had direction towards World trade center, 1 towards Pentagon and the last one towards The White House. The 2 planes hit world trade center with about 600 km/h and all the passengers died immediately. The plane with the direction towards Pentagon ?ew with the same speed as the other planes and hit Pentagon. Here died about 125 people. The last plane was supposed to hit The White House, but the passengers who was on the plane received phonecalls from their family about the other terror actions, so some of passengers on the plane decided to capture the plane back. But the plane crashed on a ?eld in pennsylvania far away from everything. Ground zero Ground zero is the place where the world trade center stood.
