Nirvana was an American grunge band formed by singer and guitarist Kurt Donald Cobain, bassist Krist Noveselic and drummer Aaron Burckhard in Aberdeen, Washington in 1985. It all started in Krist Noveselic’s mom’s basement. Where they jammed and started making songs. They switch drummer a few times before Chad Channing joined the band and helped making their debut album “Bleach” in 1989. In 1990 Chad Channing got replaced by Dave Grohl as a drummer. After Dave Grohl joined the band they started making a new album called “Nevermind” it was release in 1991. It was theirs most sold album.
They also release Hormoaning in 1992, Incesticide in 1993 and In Utero also in 1993. In Utero is my favorite album.
Kurt Cobain never liked the attention they got from their album “Nevermind” and their mega hit “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. People just went to their concert for that one song, and that’s why they make the album “In Utero” to get the “fake fans” away. “In Utero” was very similar to their first album “Bleach”.
In 1993 Pat Smear joined Nirvana as a second guitarist. And played in their unplugged live show.
In the beginning of 1994 they went to an European tour, but it got cancel cause Cobain was found unconscious in a hotel room in Rom. This was he’s first suicidal attempt. (It happened on the 4. marts, 1994).The band disintegrates in 1994 when Kurt Cobain committed suicide on April the 5th, he was founded on the 8th April.
