Nirvana: Bandets historie og Kurt Cobains død

I chose to talk about Nirvana because it’s a band that my dad introduced me to, and I just

came to like it. I have listened to them for many years now.

Background.

Nirvana was a popular American grunge-band in the 90’s. Originally when the band started,

the members consisted of Kurt Cobain, Krist Noveselic and Aaron Burckhard. They often

changed the band name and drummers a couple of times, until in 1988 they decided on the

name Nirvana and Chad Channing became the permanent drummer. Their debut record

“Bleach” released in 1989 on Sub Pop (a record company)

In 1990 Chad Channing (the drummer) got replaced by Dave Grohl. That same year they

began to record the album “Nevermind” which is the most popular album by Nirvana.

After “Nevermind” they began touring around the world where they also had a concert at

Roskilde Festival (1992).

And after that they made the albums incesticide and In Utero.

Kurt Cobains suicide.

In 1994 Nirvana went on a tour in Europe but was cancelled because Kurt Cobain was found

unconscious in a hotel room in Rome due to a suicide attempt. He got sent to a hospital and

after some time he was discharged and went back to USA.
