The vast majority of girls with anorexia can be treated without the use of force-feeding. Still some regions of the country use force-feeding in the form of tube feeding when patients do not want to eat. Do the patients’ need friends?

Many girls in the world have an eating disorder. But what is the real problem? Is it because they think that to be skinny is the new in? Of course it can be that. Eating disorders are not about the food. There are underlying issues. The eating disorder is the symptom, not the problem itself. All people in this world need some kind of attention, we need love and we need someone who will care about us.

If your friend is obsess about dieting, talk about calories, fat and carbs constantly, if your friends get anxious around food, panic if it is unable to work out or skips meals regularly, you know something is wrong. You need to talk with your friend, you cannot just pretend that there is nothing wrong, because there is and the disease will kill your friend. Maybe the will survive the death outside but in some point of another they will be killed inside.

Why should I do it?You have to do it because you care. Maybe there is someone in your life who needs you to be concerned. You don’t have to be a parent or relative to Intervene; friends often play an important role in recovery.
