Anorexia shows first of weight loss. The person is extremely underweight, and is afraid of gaining. The sick is strongly underweight, but trying to lose weight more. She eats nothing and tries to avoid high-calorie foods. The diseases often have a need to control everything the family eats. She is so much preoccupied with her weight that she didn’t have time think about something else, and want to lose weight all the time. People with anorexia typically deny that she is sick, and needs help.
Diagnosis of anorexia nervosa is made, when the following are met:
Quick weight loss
Intense fear to maintain even a normal body weight
Disturbed body image
Delayed pubertal development (stuffing of menstruation)
Bulimia- nervous overeating:
Bulimia nervosa is episode of bingeing, vomiting because the weight, excessive exercise, use of laxatives or diet pills. Young people with bulimia lose control overeating. After bingeing she throws up, or uses other methods to lose weight. A person with bulimia is often of normal weight, which makes it difficult to defect the disease.
Diagnosis of bulimia nervosa is made, when the following are met:
Repeated episodes of bingeing, where the sick within two hours of eating a lot more, then others would overcome
