Summary: Do violent video games cause crime? The short answer would be no since there isn’t evidence from the research that prove that video games cause crime. Although they still say that it isn’t a good idea to play these games many hours. This isn’t the only problem that video games cause shows in the research although many disagree. That the problem is that children get exposed to the violence from the videogame which cause the children to be less affected. Some of the researcher claims that the children get affected while other reaches claims that they don’t. Although we live in a society were TV and music videos also have the same kind of violence it seems to have bigger impact than games. The research concludes that although video games might have an impact the TV and films have a much higher impact than the video games. Therefor the problem may lay in the individual person that can get trigger by the game. Some people are more vulnerable for these things which can lead to these problems. This violence isn’t caused by video games but some people can be trigger by the games if they are very vulnerable.

Discussion: “Do you think that this normalises the notion that we live in a violent society and there’s nothing you can do about that, so get used to it?” (Text: Do violent video games cause crime). There is not a right answer to this question since everybody have a different opinion. This is grey zones were we can’t draw a line and say that it: ‘’normalises the notion that we live in a violent society’’. The video games don’t cause violence among the children or people that play those games normally. There might be some individual people/children that can be trigger by these games but there will always be some rare cases. It would be the same thing to say if you drank a beer and then say that you will be an addicted to alcohol. Video games can seem meaningless for some parents and adults but I won’t say that. There are many good reasons to play video games for example you learn to read and communicate on English or at the langue you have it on. You have to be able to react fast and take a crucial decision like Lucy Prebble said. More and more of the social network are also about playing video games and play it with other people. But there are also bad things about video games. One of the best examples are that you play to long at the evening and get to bed way too late to be fresh next day at school. Some people get addicted to the games so that they don’t have social life. Another good example is that you play video games and then you don’t have time for homework or social activates. As I see it there are both good things about video games and bad things but most of the bad things can be prevented easily. Some of those problems like not making homework or go to bed at the right time can be fixed easily. Now day’s society is too scared that we end up like a no brainer with either education or knowledge. Just like Lucy Prebble say that : "The idea of raising a chubby automaton who spends all day shooting people in the head while calling for more Dorito is more than some parents can stand.’’(Video: video games ‘more creative than reading). This is a great example of the unnecessariness worries that parents can have when they see that their child is playing video games. Although I don’t say that it’s good to play video games the entire time it won’t hurt the children that they play some video games. The older generation has to accept that the world keep changing and it will never be the same as when they lived. Many of the social things happen at the internet and video games and therefor children tend to play more video games with other people. Another great example of the twisted truth of what I think is that going in a theater to watch a movie is more sociable: "Playing a game is more sociable than watching a film. Watching a film may as well be done separately as together."(Video: video games ‘more creative than reading). This point is clear that it is more sociable to play video games together than seeing a movie. When you see a movie you won’t have any interaction with the other person you sit next to and watch the film with. If we then have to look the social thing aside and look at the learning part about video games how does it then look. Parents always say that you should do something more productive instead of playing video game. But I would say that you can learn a lot from the video games which can be used in many different ways. Like make crucial decisions, make tactics or even explore your creativity with Minecraft. When I then hear people say something like this: "Research shows reading frequency has a direct link to attainment, as eight in 10 children who read over 10 books a month are above average readers compared with just three in 10 of those who rarely read."(Video: video games ‘more creative than reading). Just make me annoyed and mad. Can’t they see that the research only shows that if you read a lot you can also get good to read? This has nothing to do about video games and the link with video games cause bad behaviors or other things. Video games can both be good but also bad if you take it to the extreme. The only need her is that it need to be regulated with the amount of time you spent on it and if it is regulated I don’t see any really big problems. Video games won’t make anyone more violent or else we would have seen an entire army everywhere of people doing Call of Duty things. I will leave this discussion with a last sentence to think about: Are we capable and smart enough to know the line between video games and real life?
