What are the American values and beliefs? We all know that there is many different cultures and ethnic religions in America, so is there only one way to define the American values and beliefs? What are the negative sides and what are the positive sides in the American values and beliefs? What is Morgan Spurlock’s trying to show us, by making the documentary “living on a minimum wage”? Is there any difference between the American and the Danish values and beliefs, and what are the main differences?
Freedom is one of many other American values, but it is maybe the biggest and most important value. The Americans see themselves as the freest people in the world for example, they have the right to practice any religion, which they find interesting. Americans see their freedom as an opportunity for immigrants who are dying to live in a society with freedom. The freedom allows the citizens, not only to express their meninges, but it gives the them the opportunity to control their own life. The American freedom is based on the Founding Fathers beliefs, which means, that all people must be treated equally, and the government do not have a big influence in the citizens’ individual life. But is that reality? Cause for a year ago, gays could not get married, and there is still some stats, that do not allow gay marriage. So how can America be a free country, when people cannot get married if they are gay! So there is social groups that have less freedom then others. But over time, the freedom has been improved, for example the African-Americans did not have the same rights as the Americans, for a couple of years ago. That has changed a little bit.
