Is the American dream that you have a good family, a job, a big house, an expensive car, and a smile of your face every minute, every hour, every second? I think no families are living the American dream? There is no one who is perfect. Maybe on the outside, but deep inside, every family have problems, and no money, no big car; no expensive car can solve these problems.

The movie American dream is a good example that money can solve problems in life; no one can buy himself or herself happiness.

The theme in this movie is an opportunity to open some taboos. No family wants to accept that their life sucks, and live in a horrible everyday. But one day Lester had enough. He lives in a trivial world. He realizes that the importing things in live is not to act successful, to stay successful, but to confront his problems, and begins to live his life like he wants it. American dream is a joke. American dream would be if everyone would stop acting like their life and family was perfect.

The Instructor of this movie makes me embarrassed. I can stand the fact that people think this theme is a taboo? Yes, your family life sucks? But why live with it, instead of solving your problems? They will kill you inside, or maybe? Kill you for real. It’s embarrassing that a father kicks out his son, because he thinks his son is gay, but in the reality, it’s the father that is gay? But he will not lose face and admit it. Is it awful that parents who do not know how to treat their children exist? Taboos is important, its important that people talk to each other, opening them self. So no, the American dream is not to have a great family, a nice car, a big house, and a smile of your face. The American dream doesn’t exist, only in movies. But everyone should make an effort to not live the American nightmare.
