I arrived on december 19th to Cape Town in South Africa. I went there for The Big Five, to learn surfing and to become an amateur gold digger for a day. The Big Five is the elephant, the lion, the leopard, the rhinoceros and the buffalo. I visited a rich family who lives in one of the rich cities of South Africa and a poor family who lives in the middle of South Africa. I was shocked when I saw the difference of the two families. The rich family had clean water, nice warm beds and a quite big house, while the poor family was sleeping on the floor of houses made out of mud and their animals poop. The women were sent for a pump to pump up water witch wasn’t even clean. They were catching their own food from the savanna and traded some of it to fish from the sea hunters just to get different sort of food. But even with all this work they were smiling and way more happy than the family from the city. I met this little girl who sewed with her mother every day to make clothes for their family. She showed me some of the nice clothes she’d made and the quality is actually way better than some of the clothes you can buy in stores. When I visited The Big Five I took the little girl with me and she told me a few things about the animals. Well I had a interpreter who translated what she said to me otherwise I wouldn’t have had any sort of idea what she was saying. Well my surfing lesson didn’t go very well because I never really learned to surf and I almost drowned. But it was an experience to be there.I also went diving and a saw the most beautiful shapes and colors of the coral reef.
