Unfortunately, my amazing holiday trip to South Africa Is over now. It’s not every day you get to see such an interesting culture as there.

I travelled widely from Johannesburg, to Pilanesburg and then all the way to Cape Town.

After a sixteen hour long flight, I arrived at the airport in Johannesburg. It was a very modern airport actually, not what I had expected, and they even checked my luggage two times.

Already before my flight, I knew I had to go to The Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg, since it shows an important though tragic, part of South Africa’s history. The apartheid theme even began before I had entered the museum. The signposting of the entrance showed ‘’Whites´’ and ‘’Non-whites’’, which I found quite funny, despite the harrowing actual meaning of it. The whole tour on the museum was excellent, and gave me much more knowledge about the subject, and insight in the history of apartheid.

I was in South Africa, so of course I watched some elephants. I joined a tourist bus, which drove me out of the city to Pilanesburg Game Reserve, Safari. Seeing those incredibly big animals at point black range, in their natural habitat, was breathtaking and a bit touching. I loved how the baby elephants, always held their mother’s mothers tail, with their cute short trunks. However. Sadly, elephants are an endangered species, so I had to donate an amount to support the rescue of them. Guess I’ll have to take some extra shifts.
