In 1998 the 19 year old Rukhsana shamed her family, because she was pregnant without being married. The incident resulted in murder by her family. A Kurdish Londoner, Abdalla took action with a Muslim motive. He hacked his own daughter to death, and the reason was because of her western lifestyle and her Christian boyfriend. It is not only a Muslim problem. 19 year old Anita Ginda was strangled because she wanted to marry her boyfriend.
There are difference factors that connect honor killing such as a big family network, gossip, societies there are patriarchal and so on. Fareena emphasizes in the end that honor crimes have no relation to religions and domestic violent shouldn’t be an excuse for Islamophobia.
