The movie is telling the affair about Mark David Chapman who shot and killed one of the world’s biggest music-idols, John Lennon. The movie starts December 9. 1980 where Chapman arrives to New York to get John Lennon’s autograph. He waited day in and day out, in front of John Lennon’s house, and there he met other John Lennon fans, for an example Jude, there equals him, aims after a blink or an autograph from their idol. Chapman made the others believe that he came from Hawaii, but when a photographer told him, that he did not sound or look like one from Hawaii, his temper almost exploded.
As days went by he got more and more mental ill, and in the end he trusted he was Holden Cailfield, who is the main character in “Catcher in the Rye”, witch is a book he read all the time. Chapman began to take over Holden’s strange thoughts about, that all false people should die, and to Chapman’s brain, John Lennon was one of the false people, because he did not practise the things he sang about in his music.
An evening Chapman finally met John Lennon and he got an autograph, while the photographer Paul took a photo of them and then John Lennon went into the house. Paul went home too and then John Lennon came back. Chapman said “John Lennon” and thereafter he pops 6 shots straight against him.
