We are … and as two politically active students, the mayor of London had invited us to give a speech about the problem in London. The big problem is riots in London. Today we are going to talk about the situation with the riots and tell you about what actually happened, why it started, and how we can solve the violence.
It started on August 4 in Tottenham, an Afro-Caribbean man was killed by the police. The police did not tell the family why they had killed him. Two days later the family started a peaceful protest with a small group of supporters. It all ended up in chaos. A bus in flames and so was the police cruisers. This episode was nothing compared to the next episodes. The mobile ‘’BlackBerry’’ where the riots can communicate through the social media, Twitter, where used to encourage thousands of young people to steal clothes, property and money, and thereafter smashing the shops. Therefore people from the South London and other areas that had no link to the Tottenham killing started the next afternoon to wreck their own neighborhoods. Stores, cars, houses and offices where smashed. Children about 9 years, helped to destroy their own city with the other frustrated teenagers. In Birmingham is three innocent people run over and killed. In few days where more than 1200 people across the country arrested.
