Dear cousin in Sarah

I have received an assignment from my English teacher to write you a letter, about my first year at HHX. HHX stands for “higher trading examination” and it’s specializing the students in sale, marketing and business/managerial economics. My first year at HHX has been very interesting and educational. Through the first part of the year I was very active and I took notes all the time through our courses, and my first grades were great. Then I slowly found out that I couldn’t do this a hole year for all our courses. So I read a book named “spillet om karakterene” (“The game of grades”). The story is about how you get great grades, but with less effort than normal. The book tells you that you have to prioritize your assignments and courses. Prioritize the courses you are going to finish this year, and just follow the other courses moderately. After some time while I was using this method, I had less pressure on my shoulders. However, even though I had more time and space, I managed to improve my grades in five different courses. Aside from the improvement of my grades and my improved contribution to several courses, I have also obtained many new friends, due to my time for social stuff. It was quite hard to get new friends in the start, because all the boys in my class came from the same boarding school, and therefore knew each other before the first day, but thing are better now. We have been on skiing holiday together and we go to soccer games together, and I feel very comfortable in my class. But, my class is divided up in groups; two groups of boys and two groups of girls. It’s a bit frustrating because the boarding school I come from, there weren’t groups like this. Instead, everybody talked to each other, and the majority were like one big group. Of course, my boarding school wasn’t perfect, some were left a bit out, but everyone could talk together and at least say hello on in the hallway and have a conversation while they are eating. Except for this, my first year at HHX has been really good, I fit in, my skills are improving and I have made a lot of new friends.Best regards from
